Dolby Digital Plus sound does not output from the device connected with the optical digital cable

Due to product specifications, your TV will automatically mute the Digital Audio (Optical) Out Jack when receiving Dolby Digital Plus audio. If you want to listen to Dolby Digital Plus audio, connect the HDMI ARC or HDMI eARC jacks on the TV to the output device using an HDMI cable.
Note: Your Audio System (output device) must support Dolby Digital Plus playback.
How to listen to audio from devices connected to your TV with an optical digital cable
When connecting devices with an optical digital cable, you can listen to audio in Dolby Digital by following these steps:
Note: The display screen may slightly differ depending on the model or OS version.
- Connect the Optical Digital Cable:
- Connect the optical digital cable from the TV's Optical Out to the audio system's Optical In.
- Disconnect the HDMI cable from the HDMI ARC (or eARC) terminal on both the TV and the audio system.

Set the TV's speaker output setting to Audio system.

- Select Display & Sound → Audio output → Speakers → Audio system.
- Select BRAVIA Settings → Speakers → Audio system.
- Select Sound → Speakers → Audio system.
(If your model does not have Dolby Digital Plus output settings, skip this step.)
- Open the

- Select Sound → Sound Adjustments or Sound → Advanced settings → Input related or Common → Dolby Digital Plus output → Dolby Digital.
- Select Display & Sound → Audio output → Dolby Digital Plus output or Digital Audio Out → Dolby Digital.
(If your model does not have Optical digital audio output settings, skip this step.)
- On the remote control, press the
Quick settings button and select
Settings.
- Select Display & Sound → Audio output → Optical digital audio output settings → Turn on the Optical digital audio output.
