How to update pre-installed apps (e.g. Netflix, YouTube™) on your Google TV™ or Android TV™

Update your apps automatically

If the Google Play Store app is set to Auto-update apps at any time (default), apps that are pre-installed in the TV are generally updated automatically.
Check the settings using the following procedure.

1. Open the  Settings screen. How to access Settings 
   • If the remote control has a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the Quick Settings button and select  Settings.
   • If the remote control does not have a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the HOME button and select  Settings.
     
2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
   • Select Apps → See all apps → Google Play Store (under the SYSTEM APPS) → Open.
     Move the cursor to the Profile icon on the upper right of the screen, then select Settings → Auto-update apps → Auto-update apps at any time.
   • Select Apps → Google Play Store → Settings → Auto-update apps → Auto-update apps at any time.
   • Select Google Play Store → Settings → Auto-update apps → Auto-update apps at any time.

Update your apps manually

If you want to update the app on your own, follow the steps below.

 If the Google Play Store or Play Store does not appear in the Apps column on the Home screen
