What is a [specific audio system connected with HDMI cable] supported by the A/V sync setting?

IMPORTANT: This article only applies to specific products and/or operating systems. Please check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article.

For the following models, when the A/V sync setting is set to Auto, the TV adjusts the audio and video timing based on the audio system. For other audio systems, even if you set A/V Sync to Auto, the TV will provide a fixed amount of adjustment as if A/V Sync were set to On.

• To set A/V sync to Auto:
  1. Open the Settings screen. How to access Settings
     • If the remote control has a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the Quick Settings button and select Settings.
     • If the remote control does not have a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the HOME button and select Settings.
  2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
     • Select Display & Sound → Audio output → Audio system settings → A/V sync → Auto.
     • Select Display & Sound → Audio out → Audio system settings → A/V sync → Auto.
     • Select Display & Sound → Audio output → A/V sync → Auto.
     • Select Sound → A/V sync → Auto.
• The AV Sync feature can be used when outputting the TV's audio signal from a soundbar/home theater system via an ARC/eARC connection.
