If you are not getting any sound when using the 5.1 input while playing DVD discs, there may be a problem with your connection or there may be an incorrect setting. Follow these steps to try to resolve this issue.

NOTE: This solution assumes that the Audio/Video (A/V) receiver is able to produce audio using a different input source (tuner, etc.).
- Verify that the correct input is selected on the A/V receiver.
- Verify that the A/V cables from the 5.1 output on the DVD player are connected to the 5.1 input on the A/V receiver.
- Make sure the volume is set to an acceptable sound level.
