    Before You Start


    Important Notes
    • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

    Download & Install


    Download and Installation Instructions
    1. Download the SV55_W98ME_E.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
    2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SV55_W98ME_E.EXE file.
    3. A DOS box will appear and the SV55_W98ME_E files will be extracted. When it states "Finished - SV55_W98ME_E" in the blue title bar, click the X in the top-right corner to close the window. A folder titled "Sv55w98e" will appear in the directory.
    4. Double-click the "Sv55w98e" folder to open it.
    5. At the "Sv55w98e" window, double-click the Setup_e.exe icon.
    6. At the "Welcome" window, click the Next button.
    7. At the "Choose Destination Location" window, keep the default destination folder (C:\Program Files\Sony\DPPSV55), and click Next.
    8. At the "Add Printer Wizard" window, click Next.
    9. At the "How is this printer attached to your computer?" screen, make the appropriate selection and then click Next.
    10. At the "Click the manufacturer and model of your printer" screen, click the Have Disk button.
    11. At the "Install From Disk" box, click the Browse button.
    12. At the "Open" box, navigate to the sv55w98e directory from step 9 above.
    13. Double-click to open the driver folder.
    14. Double-click to open the english folder.
    15. Double-click to open the win98me folder.
    16. The entry "dppsv55.inf" will appear under "Open Filename." Click OK.
    17. At the "Install From Disk" box, click OK again.
    18. At the "Add Printer Wizard" box, confirm the "Sony DPP-SV55" entry is listed and then click Next.
      NOTE: If the "Sony DPP-SV55" entry did not appear, click the Back button and then follow steps 12-19 again.
    19. At the "Click the port you want to use with this printer..." screen, click to highlight "SonyDPPUSB1," and then click Next.
    20. At the "You can type a name for this printer..." screen, either keep the existing name or type a new one.
    21. At the "Do you want your Windows-based programs to use this printer as a default printer" prompt, select "No," and then click Finish.
    22. At the "Setup Complete" screen, select whether or not to read the readme file now, and click Finish.
      NOTE: It is recommended to print and review the readme file. To access the file later, go to C:\Program Files\Sony\DPPSV55\Program directory.
    23. Click the X in the top-right corner to close all open Windows.
    24. Restart the computer.
    After computer restarts, installation of the Sony DPP-SV55 Digital Printer Driver and Memory Stick/PC Card Reader Software for the Windows 98/98SE & Windows Me Operating Systems is complete.
