    Before You Start


    Important Notes
    • For Windows® NT 4.0 Only: It is necessary that you log on to Windows NT 4.0 as Administrator to install this driver.
    • The driver does not work with a PC which has multiple processors.
    • Only 1.44MB formatted floppy disks can be used after this driver is installed. Using 720KB / 1.25MB formatted floppy disks may cause data damage.
    • The adaptor operation is not guaranteed if it is used with the following floppy disk drive configurations:
      • The floppy disk drive is connected to a computer via a USB connector.
      • The floppy disk drive is connected to a computer via the PC card slot.
    • It is recommended to use the MSAC-PC2 Memory Stick PC Card Adaptor when using a notebook computer.
    • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

    Download and Installation Instructions
    1. Download the FD1A11002E.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
    2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the FD1A11002E.EXE file to begin the installation.
    3. At the "MSAC-FD1A UPDATE PROGRAM" box, do not modify the existing "Extract Directory" entry (this should match the directory you are currently in), and click OK. A folder titled "English" will appear in the directory.
    4. Double-click the "English" folder to open it.
    5. At the "English" window, double-click the Setup.exe icon.
    6. At the "Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for Memory Stick / Floppy Disk Adaptor" screen, click Next.
      NOTE: The blue background will say "Installing Memory Stick / Floppy Disk Adaptor for Windows 95. This is OK.
    7. At the "License Agreement" screen, read the License Agreement and click Yes to continue.
    8. At the "Choose Destination Location" screen, click Next to install to the default installation directory (C:\Program Files\MSAC-FD1).
    9. At the "Select Program Folder" screen, click Next to create a program folder titled "Floppy Disk Adaptor for Memory Stick."
    10. At the "Setup Complete" screen, select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now," and click Finish.

    The computer will restart and the Memory Stick™ Floppy Disk Adaptor icon (looks like a small floppy disk) will appear in the Windows system tray located at the bottom-right of the screen.
