    Before You Start


    Important Notes
    • Please confirm that the MVC-CD200/CD300 is not connected to the computer when beginning this update installation.
    • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

    Download & Install


    Download and Installation Instructions
    1. Download the PTPDRV10E.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
    2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the PTPDRV10E.EXE file to begin the installation.
    3. At the "Uncompress to Folder" box, confirm that "C:\Documents and Settings\'username'\Desktop" is listed ('username' varies according to login), and click OK. This creates a Sony PTP folder on the Windows Desktop to which the files are extracted.
    4. Click the "Sony_ptp" folder to open it.
    5. At the "Sony_ptp" window, click the Setup icon.
    6. At the "InstallShield Wizard" window, click the Next button.
    7. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" message, click the Finish button.
    8. Please continue with the next section below.
    Connect the MVC-CD200/CD300 Mavica® Camera to the Computer
    1. Insert a disc into the CD Mavica camera.
    2. Connect the supplied AC power adaptor to the CD Mavica camera, and plug it into an outlet.
    3. Change the USB connection setting from "NORMAL" to "PTP."
      • Select "SETUP mode."
      • Select "SETUP 2."
      • Select "USB CONNECT."
      • Select "PTP."
    4. Connect the CD Mavica camera to the computer with the supplied USB cable. The computer recognizes the hardware, and a message to find the hardware appears.
    5. Confirm that "Install the software automatically" is selected, and click Next.
    6. Confirm that "Sony Digital Camera" is selected, click Next.
      NOTE: Please ignore the warning message "This driver is not digitally signed!".
      NOTE: If an item other than "Sony Digital Camera", is mistakenly selected, it is necessary to delete and then reinstall the driver. Follow these steps to do so:.
      1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
      2. At the "Control Panel" window, click the "Add or Remove Programs" icon.
      3. At the "Add or Remove Programs" window, click to highlight "Sony PTP USB Driver," and then click the Change/Remove button.
      4. At the "Confirm File Deletion" box, click OK.
      5. At the "InstallShield Wizard has finished performing maintenance operations on Sony PTP USB Driver" message, click Finish.
      6. Please return to step 4 of the Download and Installation Instructions above to reinstall the driver.
    7. At the prompt click the "Continue Anyway" button to proceed.
      Do not press the ENTER key here because the "STOP Installation" option is selected as default. Pressing ENTER will discontinue the installation.
    8. Click Finish to complete the installation. The Scanner and Camera Wizard will begin automatically. The Wizard is a tool to copy image data from the camera to the computer.
