About this download

This utility will upgrade the OpenMG™ Jukebox software to version 2.2 with the following enhancements:

Compatible with the Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition, Windows® XP Professional, Windows® 2000 Professional, Windows® ME, Windows® 98 Second Edition and Windows® 98 operating systems (manufacturer-installed only)
Compatible with the NTFS format
New "Sound Effect" and "Equalizer" functions
Includes all the enhanced features found in the OpenMG™ Jukebox software version 2.0:
1. Improved CD copying speed
2. An improved user interface
3. A user-friendly file managment system
4. Stores and plays Atrac3™, MP3, Windows Media Audio (WMA), and WAV files

Important Notes

This upgrade program service is only for customers who purchased and registered their Sony portable player in the United States. You will be asked to enter the serial number of your portable device prior to downloading the upgrade program.
There are 2 ways to obtain this upgrade:
1. Download the upgrade program - approximately, 51MB (free of charge).
2. Purchase the "OpenMG™ Jukebox Version.2.2 Upgrade Kit" CD-ROM, part number OMG22.
If you have previously upgraded to OpenMG™ Jukebox version 2.0 and are NOT running the Microsoft® Windows® XP operating system, it is not necessary to upgrade to OpenMG™ Jukebox version 2.2. The main user interface features have remained the same.
This upgrade program has system requirements to function properly.
During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

Download the UPGRADE_OMG22U_102802.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the UPGRADE_OMG22U_102802.EXE file to begin the installation.
At the "OpenMG Jukebox" screen, click Upgrade to OpenMGJukebox 2.2 and follow the onscreen instructions. If a "Read Only File Detected" box appears, click Yes.
NOTE: If you choose to install the OpenMG™ application in a folder other than the default folder, it is recommended you install the OpenMG™ application in a newly created folder. If you receive an error message, click OK, the installation will complete normally.
At the "OpenMG Jukebox" screen, click Restart.

After the computer restarts, the upgrade to OpenMG® Jukebox application version 2.2 is completed.
