Important Notes
  • The Digital Voice Editor Version 2.27 Update Utility updates the Digital Voice Editor software to Version 2.27 and offers the following benefits and issue resolutions:
    • Offers more stable functionality.
    • The AutoSave function for Memory Stick media is supported.
    • Offers an "Easy Search (Backward)" option in the Transcribing Key settings.
    • Resolves the issue where messages recorded in ST-mode would sometimes not playback.
    • Resolves the issue where recording a message that is slightly smaller than the available memory still generates an insufficient memory message.
    • Provides support for the ICD-Px8/STx5/SX/BM series IC recorders.
    • Enables the AutoSave function for the ICD-SX/ST/P series IC recorders.
    • Provides support for LP-mode messages recorded with an ICD-Px8 series IC recorder.
    • Resolves a low playback volume issue for messages recorded with an ICD-P series IC recorder.
    • Many more improvements... . For a full list of improvements over previous 2.x versions of the Digital Voice Editor application, as well some important usage information, please refer to the ReadMe.txt file that is bundled with this update (see step 8 below).
  • In order to install correctly, this update requires that Digital Voice Editor Version 2.01 or higher be installed on the computer.
  • For Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems: During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
  • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

Download and Installation Instructions
  1. Close all open programs that are running to prevent possible interference with the installation of this update. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  2. Download the DVE227EUPDATE.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
  3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the DVE227EUPDATE.EXE file to begin the installation.
  4. At the "Welcome" window, click "Next".
  5. At the "Readme File" window, please read the license agreement and then click "I Agree."
  6. At the "Enter the owner name" window, type the name of the person who will be using the software.
  7. At the "Start Installation" window, click "Next".
  8. At the "ReadMe.txt - Notepad" window, either read the document or print it for later review. Click the X at the top-right to close the "ReadMe.txt - Notepad" window.
  9. At the "Installation Complete" window, click "Finish".
  10. At the "Install" box, click "OK" to restart the computer.
    NOTE: If the "Install" box does appear and prompt to restart the computer, please restart the computer manually. Click Start and then click Shutdown. Select "Restart" and then click "OK".
  11. After the computer restarts, the installation of the Digital Voice Editor Version 2.27 Updater is complete.
  12. Connect the IC Recorder to the USB port of your computer.
    NOTE: If connecting an ICD-BP IC recorder to the computer for the first time, the Hardware Update Wizard or New Hardware Found Wizard (depending on your operating system) will launch automatically. Select "Install the software automatically" and then click "Next". If a "Hardware Installation" warning message appears, click "Continue Anyway" to proceed with using the software.
The installation of the Digital Voice Editor Version 2.27 software is now complete.
