    Benefits and improvements

    This utility upgrades the Memory Stick® Voice Editor software Version 2.x to Digital Voice Editor software Version 2.27 and provides the following benefits:
    • The AutoSave function has been added which automatically saves messages from the IC recorder when it is connected to a computer.
      NOTE: The AutoSave function is available only for certain models of IC recorders. For details, see the online help topic "Saving IC recorder messages on the computer automatically (AutoSave)".
    • The V-Up function has been added which automatically adjusts the level of the playback sound. It makes the sound louder only for the low-level parts of a recorded message.
    • The Memory Stick Voice Editor software Version 2.x cannot perform properly with the Visual and Voice Editor software.

    Before You Start


    Important Notes
    • This upgrade is for computers that already have Memory Stick® Voice Editor software version 2.x installed.
    • If you do not have Memory Stick Voice Editor software version 2.x installed, please check the support page for your voice recorder for available updates.
    • If you are using the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or Windows XP operating system, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights during the installation of this file.
    • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

    Download and Installation Instructions
    1. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    2. Download the DVE227EUPGRADE.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
    3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the DVE227EUPGRADE.EXE file to begin the installation.
    4. At the "Enter the owner name" window, enter any name with less than 20 characters.
    5. At the "Sony Digital Voice Editor 2 has been successfully installed." message, click "Finish".
    6. Restart the computer.

    After the computer restarts, the installation of the Digital Voice Editor Application Upgrade is complete.
    Installation Verification (Optional)
    1. Start the Digital Voice Editor software.
    2. On the Menu Bar, click "Help" and then click "About Digital Voice Editor".
    3. At the "About Digital Voice Editor" screen, verify that "Digital Voice Editor Version 2.27" is displayed.
