Important Notes
- WARNING! Do not power off the receiver or disconnect the network cable during the firmware update process. Doing so may cause may cause a malfunction.
- IMPORTANT: Turn the master volume down to (

- During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- It is highly recommended that you print out these instructions for use as a reference during the installation process.
ES Utility System Requirements

Notes:- Please ensure that the latest operating system service pack is installed. (SP1 for Windows Vista operating system or SP3 for Windows XP operating system.)

Required Equipment
- A compatible computer with an active Internet connection.
- Network LAN cable to connect the receiver to the network.
- Supplied CD with ES Utility software.
Note: If you do not have the ES Utility CD, you can download the ES Utility application to your computer. Please refer to the ES Utility installation procedures below for additional details. - Supplied remote commander.
- TV connected to the receiver.
Firmware Download and Installation Instructions
- WARNING! Do not power off the receiver or disconnect the network cable during the firmware update process. Doing so may cause may cause a malfunction.
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- Download the A64U_1062.zip file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
- Connect the receiver to your network using a network LAN cable.
- Ensure the receiver is connected to the TV.
- Power on the receiver and wait 30-50 seconds for the U-com communication.
- On the remote commander, press the "GUI MODE" button to show "GUI MODE ON" in the display window.
- Ensure the TV is powered on. The menu is displayed on the TV screen.
Note: If your receiver has already been configured to connect with your home network, please skip to step 13. - On the remote commander, use the up/down arrow (
) buttons to select Settings, Network, Network Setup.
- At the "Network Setup" menu, select Internet Setup.
- At the "Internet Setup" screen, select Connect Automatically(DHCP).
The message "Connecting... Please wait." may appear. - When the receiver has successfully connected to the network, select "Finish" and press the enter (
) button.
- On the remote commander, use the up/down arrow (
) buttons to select Settings, System, System Update.
- At the "Select the update service" menu, select "PC update" and press the enter (
) button.
- At the "Are you sure you want to update the firmware?" message, select "Start".
- After 15 seconds, the "PC update" window will appear.

- It may take 30 minutes to complete the update.
- On the computer, double-click the ES Utility
icon.
- At the "ES Utility - Select AV Receiver" screen, double-click the icon for your receiver.
- At the "ES Utility" screen, move the scroll bar on the left to select "System".
- At the "System Settings" screen, to the right of "File Path", click "Browse" to locate the A64U_1062.zip file.
- Click "Start Update".
- At the "Start Update" screen, click "Yes" to start the update process. This update takes 15-30 minutes to complete.
Note: The MULTI CHANNEL DECODING lamp on the front panel of the receiver flashes while the update is in progress. The flashing will disappear after the update is complete. - After the update completes, click "Exit".
- Power off the receiver and disconnect from the computer.
The firmware software update is complete.
How to Check the Software Version
- On the remote commander, press the "GUI MODE" button to display "GUI MODE OFF" in the display window of the receiver.
- On the remote commander, press the "MENU" button, then press the up/down arrow (
) buttons to select "System Settings", and then press the enter (
) button.
- Use the up/down arrow (
) buttons to select "VERSION x.xxx". This will display the current version information for the receiver.

ES Utility Installation
- The ES Utility software is required to perform the firmware update. Follow the steps below to install the ES Utility software on your computer:
Note: It is not necessary to install the ES Utility software if you have previously install this utility.- Power on your computer and login as administrator or with an account with administrator rights.
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- Insert the the supplied ES Utility CD into your CD-ROM drive.
- The installation launcher automatically starts and displays the Software Setup screen.
Notes:- If the installation launcher does not start, navigate to the CD-ROM files and double-click the "SetupLauncher.exe" file.
- If you do not have the ES Utility CD, download the ES Utility application to your computer, open the downloaded folder, and then double-click the "SetupLauncher.exe" file.
- At the "Welcome to the Software Setup" screen, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I accept the terms of the license agreement", and then click "Next".
- At the "Software Setup" screen, under "Software" click the ES Utility icon.
- At the "Software Setup" screen, under "ES Utility" click "Install".
- At the "Welcome to the ES Utility Installer" screen, click "Next".
- At the "Select Type" screen, select "Custom", and then click "Next".
- At the "Choose a Destination Folder" screen, click "Next".
- At the "Add a desktop shortcut" screen, select "Add a shortcut to the desktop", and then click "Next".
- At the "Install the program" screen, click "Install".
- At the "ES Utility was successfully installed" screen, click "Finish".

icon is placed on your desktop.
