    Important Notes

    • WARNING!!: Before the install, be sure the computer is running from AC power. If the installation of the BIOS is interrupted by power loss, the computer may not operate correctly or at all!
    • If the Microsoft® Bitlocker™ security feature is being used, please turn it off before installing this update. The BitLocker feature can be turned on after the update is complete.
    • In order for the Windows® 8.1 Operating System Upgrade process to install successully this update should be run before upgrading your computer.
    • During the installation of this update:
      • Do not turn the computer off.
      • Do not allow the computer to enter Standby or Hibernation states.
      • Do not start other programs.
      • Do not connect any peripherals.
    • During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
    • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    • It is highly recommended that you print out these instructions for use as a reference during the installation process.

    Download and Installation Instructions

    1. WARNING!!: Before installing this update, be sure the computer is running from AC power. If the installation of the BIOS is interrupted by power loss, the computer may not operate correctly or at all!
    2. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    3. Download the EP0000601152.exe file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
    4. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the EP0000601152.exe file to begin the installation.
    5. At the "Welcome to BIOS Update for Microsoft® Setup Program", click "Next".
    6. Read the Software License Agreement, if you agree, click "I Agree".
    7. Read the WARNING!! note of the Microsoft® BitLocker™ security.
    8. At the "User Account Control" screen, click "Yes".
    9. At the "VAIO BIOS Update Tool" screen, verify that the version to be installed is R1082S7 and click "Update".
    10. At the "WBFLASH - The computer will restart. Are you sure you want to update the VAIO firmware?" dialog box, click "OK" to confirm that the system BIOS will be updated.
    11. The computer will automatically shutdown when the update is complete.
    12. After the computer shuts down, wait for 60 seconds, then power on the computer.

    After the computer restarts, the installation of the BIOS Update is complete.

    Update Verification (optional)

    Please follow the steps below to verify that the software was successfully updated

    1. Launch the VAIO Care application.
    2. Double-click "About Your VAIO".
    3. Double-click "System Information".
    4. BIOS Version R1082S7 is displayed.
