About this download

This utility installs an updated version of the Intel® Wireless LAN software to address the following issues:

Add support for the Windows® 8.1 operating system
Improves Wi-Fi Miracast performance
Resolve an issue where a blue screen or operating system (OS) crash may occur
Improves Wireless LAN connectivity
Improves file transfer when using the Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) encryption for 802.11a or 802.11g band connections
Resolves issues where the errors "Network Detected Error" and "1018: No Internet connection available" appear in the Intel Smart Connect Technology Event History, which prevents the computer from connecting to the Access Point
Resolve an issue where a blue screen or operating system (OS) crash may occur
The computer is unable to connect to a wireless access point after resuming from sleep mode

IMPORTANT: Before installing this update, if the battery life of the computer is lower than 30% battery remaining, make sure the computer is running from AC power.
During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
It is highly recommended that you print out these instructions for use as a reference during the installation process.

Download the EP0000601171.exe file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the EP0000601171.exe file to begin the installation.
At the "User Account Control" screen, click "Yes".
At the "Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software" screen, read the Intel License Agreement, then if you agree, select "I have reviewed and agree to the End User License Agreement (EULA)", and then select "Upgrade" to begin the installation.
At the "A restart is required to complete the install. Do you wish to restart now?" screen, click "Yes" to restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Intel® Wireless LAN Update is complete.
