    Benefits and improvements

    This utility installs an updated version of the VAIO Control Center Update software and provides the following changes and benefits:

    • Resolves an issue where the Clip function does not work properly
    • Adds a feature to allow the user to launch the VAIO Active Clip / VAIO Clip with either the pen button or the Fn+1 keyboard combination
    • Adds a feature to allow the user to launch specific applications when the pen button is pressed

    Important Notes

    • During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
    • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.

    Download and Installation Instructions

    1. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    2. Download the EP0000601203.exe file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
    3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the EP0000601203.exe file to begin the installation.
    4. At the User Account Control screen, click Yes.
    5. At the Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for VAIO Control Center screen, click Next.
    6. At the InstallShield Wizard Complete screen, keep the default checked box for Yes, I want to restart my computer now, then click Finish to restart the computer.

    After the computer restarts, the installation of the VAIO Control Center Update is complete.

    Update Verification (optional)

    Please follow the steps below to verify that the software was successfully updated:

    1. Browse to C:ProgramFiles\Sony\VAIO Control Center.
    2. Or browse to C:ProgramFiles (x86)\Sony\VAIO Control Center.
    3. Double-click the version.txt file.
    4. Version 6.0.25.09160, 6.1.18.09160 or 6.2.18.09160 is displayed.
