Connect a Blu-ray Disc Player to your wireless network

Watch the video tutorial or follow the intructions below to connect a Blu-ray Disc™ or network media player to your wireless network.

Before you start

• Not all Blu-ray Disc players or home theater systems have a built-in LAN. Check your manual for model-specific information.
• If model-specific information is required to complete each step, check your manual.
• Make sure your wireless router has an active internet connection. Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for more information.

Set up a wireless connection

1. Turn on your Blu-ray Disc player.
2. On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
3. Select Setup.
4. Select Network Settings.
5. Select Internet Settings.
6. Select Wireless.
7. Select the appropriate wireless LAN setting.

   

   • Select Automatic Registration (WPS) if connecting the player to a Wi-Fi® Protected Setup-compatible wireless LAN router with security set.
   • Select Access point scan if the player is connected to a wireless LAN router that's Wi-Fi Protected Setup compatible without security, or not Wi-Fi Protected Setup-compatible.
   • Select Manual registration if you prefer to add all of the settings manually.
8. Press the ENTER button to allow the player to search for available networks.
   • This process may take a few minutes depending on signal strength and the number of wireless networks available.
9. Select the appropriate access point.
10. Select the appropriate security setting.
11. Press the ENTER button.
12. Press the ENTER button again.
13. Using the on-screen keypad, enter the WEP or WPA key

    

    • The security key appears as eight asterisks.
    • If your WEP or WPA key includes capitalized letters, press the Red button on the remote to alternate the case of the characters between lower-case and upper-case.
14. Select Finish.

    

15. Press the right arrow to continue.
16. Select either Auto Acquisition or Manual for entering the IP address.
    Note: If your device setting doesn't have a Manual option, you won't be able to manually set the IP addess.

17. If you select Manual, follow the steps below, otherwise, continue to step 18.
    1. Enter the IP address using the on-screen keypad.
    2. Select Finish.
18. Select either Auto or Manual for the DNS setting.
19. If you select Manual, follow the steps below, otherwise, continue to step 20.
    1. Enter the DNS address using the on-screen keypad.
    2. Select Finish.
20. Select whether or not to use a proxy setting.
21. If you select Manual, follow the steps below, otherwise, continue to step 22.
    1. Enter the proxy address using the on-screen keypad.
    2. Select Finish.
22. Select perform.
23. If the diagnosis is complete, press the ENTER button to finish the setup process.
