Connecting your Blu-ray Disc™ player, TV, or Network media player to your home network provides you access to many additional entertainment sources that aren't available from over-the-air, cable, or satellite providers. There are a couple of options available to connect to your home network.
Check your Home Network
Make sure that your internet connection works. You can go online using your computer, tablet, or other network device connected to your home network.
Does your internet connection work?
No
Turn your Cable or DSL modem off and back on. If you have a separate router, turn it off and back on. After these devices have fully reset, check your connection again. If still doesn't work, contact your internet service provider.
Yes
If you plan to use a wireless connection for your device, verify the wireless network is already setup and works with other devices on your network. You can test this using a computer, tablet, or other device with wireless capability.
- If wireless is not yet set up, refer to your internet provider or router manufacturer for more information.
- If wireless is set up, determine your connection options. Check your device manual or go to the Settings menu on the TV or video device (press the HOME button on the remote) and check the Network settings.

The menu and options vary depending on your product, but generally will appear in one of the following ways:
Note:
- The example images below were taken using a BRAVIA™ TV menu.
- The buttons on the remote and the menu options when using a Blu-ray Disc players or Network media players should be similar.
- Your device has a built-in wireless if you have options for Wireless or Wi-Fi.

- Your device is LAN-ready and requires a separate adapter to connect wirelessly if you see an option for Wireless and when you try to select it, you'll see a message that you need an adapter.

- You'll need to use a wired connection if you don't have an option for Wireless but you have a LAN port (RJ-45) on the back of your device.

- You can't connect your device to a network if you don't have any network settings and there's no LAN port (RJ-45) on the back of your device. Visit the store website for information, or to purchase the latest internet-capable devices. Check out our latest electronics products and accessories.
Select your connection method
Note: The wireless LAN adapter is already discontinued and no longer available. If you don't have one of these adapters, you will need to use one of the wired connection options below.
- Wired (using the RJ-45 LAN connection)

Use the LAN connection on the back of your device to connect directly to your router (wired) or to a wireless adapter (sold separately) to provide a wireless connection.
