Can the shutter sound be turned off or disabled?
The shutter sound cannot be turned off or disabled. Although NEX models do not have a mirror like DSLR and SLT cameras, NEX cameras do have a physical shutter that opens and closes. The sound being heard is the shutter opening and closing when taking a picture. This is normal operation.
