No sound comes from the subwoofer when it is connected directly to Sony’s BRAVIA TV via Wi-Fi

If you connect the subwoofer or rear speaker via Wi-Fi directly to Sony's BRAVIA TV and no sound comes from the subwoofer, refer to the following:

    Check before you start

Since a subwoofer is designed to play bass sounds, when you play an audio source that has fewer low frequencies, the sound from subwoofer will harder to be hear. To make sure the subwoofer outputs sound, try playing an audio source that will be easy to confirm the bass sound, such as a movie.

    Troubleshooting Steps

    1. Check that the subwoofer is turned on.
If any LED indicator is lit or flashing, the power is ON.
    2. Check the speaker output setting in the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app's remote control screen or BRAVIA TV's Quick Settings, and enable audio output to the wireless speaker as well. For details, refer to your TV's Help Guide.
    3. Check the status of the subwoofer's LED indicator.
      • When the LED lights up red after turning on the audio device, the connection between the soundbar and the subwoofer may not be complete. Perform the setup of the subwoofer again. For details on the setup, refer to your model's Help Guide.
      • When the LED flashes slowly in white and lights up in red after 10 seconds, move the subwoofer closer to the BRAVIA TV. Place the subwoofer where there are no obstacles, such as furniture, walls, or metal objects, directly between the TV and subwoofer.
Note: The LED may flash slowly in white for more than 10 seconds.
      • If the LED flashes red, it indicates that the internal temperature has risen.
Unplug the power cord, leave the subwoofer for a while, then plug the power cord back in and check whether the LED lights up white.
    4. Disconnect the AC power cord (mains lead) of the subwoofer, wait for about one minute, and reconnect it. Right after turning on the subwoofer, perform the setup of the subwoofer again. For details on the setup, refer to your model's Help Guide.
    5. If the issue is still not resolved, reset the soundbar or home theater system. After the reset, perform the Easy setup process and then perform the setup of the subwoofer again.
