Share Media from your iPhone or iPad to your TV Through Wi-Fi Direct

Follow the steps below to share media from your iPhone® or iPad® device to your TV using the Wi-Fi Direct® feature.

1. Turn on the Wi-Fi Direct feature of your TV

   There are several ways to turn the Wi-Fi Direct on depending on your TV model:

   • Android TV™
   • 2015 and newer LCD TV models
   • 2013 and 2014 LCD TV models
   • 2011 and 2012 LCD TV models

2. Establish connection between the mobile device and your TV.

   1. Write down the SSID and WPA Key that appears on your TV screen.

      

      • The display varies depending on the TV model and/or OS version.

   2. On your mobile device, tap Settings.

      

   3. Under Settings, tap Wi-Fi.

      

   4. Tap the switch to turn the wi-fi on.

      

      • The switch color will turn green and a list of active networks will appear

   5. Select the SSID of the TV (refer to step 1).

      

      • The selected SSID is only an example. SSIDs vary per TV.

   6. Enter the password (refer to step 1), then tap Join.

      

      • Check the note at the top of your mobile device screen to make sure if you selected the correct SSID before entering the password.

   7. Wait for the connection to establish.
      • The connection is successful if a check mark appears beside the SSID on the mobile device and a dashed line displays on your TV.

        

      • If the connection fails, retry the steps above and make sure to enter the WPA Key correctly.

3. Share media between the mobile device and your TV

   After the setup is complete, you can now share media from your mobile device to your TV through iMediaShare software, or visit the Apple Support Website to check other similar applications.
